Our physical theatre workshop is for adult performers of all levels. it explores the importance of being fully present in each moment, connecting movement to breath and the power of improvisational flow. each class will warm up and stretch the body, focus on sensory awareness and create short improvised performances. your work will be inspired by different concepts derived from physical actor training: the here & now; impulses; doing vs. showing; emotional resonances; text work. this five week series of workshops is for all levels and is informed by Judita’s long-term experience in psycho-physical performer training, embodied voice work and movement improvisation.

Judita Vivas

Judita is a trained physical theatre practitioner and teacher. She has a PhD in theatre studies from the University of Kent, where she also taught physical theatre theory and practice. In 2014, Judita co-founded Foxtale Ensemble, a European female performance company. She regularly collaborates with Acting Now, a socially engaged theatre company in Cambridge as well as DUENDE and Icarus Performance Project. Some of her most recent performance work includes: Daphne in Three Movements, inspired by the Greek myth of Daphne, and an autobiographical piece Adventures in Black and White, created and performed with Miriam Gould (Double Trouble Theatre).
